Many years ago, I used to spend summers at a fisheries research camp in the wilds of Alaska. During that time I saw dozens of bears - often times at uncomfortably close distances!
This painting is inspired by the memory of watching those giant, lumbering Grizzlies. I always appreciated their curiosity and burly athleticism.
