Key Lime Pie (Step-by-Step and Recipe)


Key Lime pie really is the perfect meeting of flavors and textures. You get the refreshing, palate-cleansing flavor from the limes paired with a cool, custard mouth-feel and a bit of crunch from the graham cracker crust. And to top it all off, Key Lime Pie is simple to make and takes only a few ingredients – perfect!



1/2 Cup lime juice (both key limes and regular limes work great)
zest of 2 limes (5 if using actual key limes)
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
4 egg yolks

1. Prepare and cool the graham cracker crust (get the crust recipe here).


2. Juice and zest the limes and mix together all the ingredients. *Remember when you’re zesting that you just want the colored part of the peel – the white part is rather bitter.


3. Pour mixture into baked and cooled graham cracker crust. Bake at 350° for 12 – 15 minutes. Allow to cool on a cooling rack and then refrigerate.


4. Top with fresh whipped cream, garnish with lime if desired and enjoy.
